New York, NY (June 17, 2019) – Jazz at Lincoln Center and JazzTimes today announced the dates for the 2020 Jazz Congress, a conference which brings together members of the global jazz community to network, as well as grow the audience for the music. The annual gathering also seeks to nurture businesses and organizations that promote, produce, present, market and support jazz. The third annual Jazz Congress will take place on January 13 & 14, 2020 at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located at Broadway at 60th Street, New York, New York.
Registration opens on August 1, 2019. Conference keynote address and schedule of panels, workshops, meetings and performances will be announced soon.
In addition to hosting sessions designed by conference organizers, Jazz Congress invites the community at large to submit session ideas through a simple online application. Individuals can submit one session idea and must confirm at least one other panelist to be considered. As session dates and times cannot be guaranteed, proposed panelists are encouraged to attend both days of Jazz Congress. The deadline to submit panel ideas is August 15, 2019. Jazz Congress organizers will notify accepted entries by September 15, 2019.
As in 2019, the Jazz Congress Advisory Board will provide valuable input from the jazz community on the programming and marketing of the conference. The Jazz Congress Advisory Board, which is still in formation, includes Gene Dobbs Bradford, Stefon Harris, Tim Jackson, Karen Kennedy, Don Lucoff, Denny Stilwell, and Helen Sung.
